The great Noble Tribe of Piner within the Willard area of North Carolina is represented here by Lord Richard, Barony of the Holly and Seneschal of Piner. It was originally a name for a person who worked as a person who worked as the Pinder which referred to the individual who impounded stray cattle. During the Middle Ages there was rampant theft of livestock, which made the Pinder a very important member of the community.
